Pretty Little Liars is a television series as well as an excellent book series. It is broadcast on Tuesdays at 8PM EST in New York City on the ABC Family Channel. It is only in English and it’s a very popular show watched by millions of people. The book is also very well liked. Their genres are young adults, mystery, thriller, romance and more. There are 16 books and five seasons on television.
The author of these awesome books is Sara Shepard. The series depicts the lives of four teenage girls named, Spencer Hasting, Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery, and Emily Fields. It reveals how their lives fall apart when the leader of the group, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing and is then reported murdered. The small town has many suspects, but they mostly think the girls named above are at fault. As they return to school a year later, they receive strange texts from a mysterious person signed ‘A.’ This ‘A’ person threatens all of them to tell their secrets and at the same time watches their every move.
The series displays many themes and topics such as bullying, murder, drug addiction, under-age drinking, eating disorders, peer pressure, homosexuality, keeping secrets and mental illnesses. Well, these stories are not only interesting, but in a way they teach the viewers that there are a lot of issues going on in people’s lives. Some people can relate to them.
