David and Goliath
Another great read that has skyrocketed in my 'must read' reading chart. In David and Goliath, Gladwell focuses his attention on comparing big corporations with small ones. How stronger companies differ fro more debilitated ones. He goes into the classroom setting and takes a closer look at the benefits and drawbacks. Gladwell enters realms that some of us may never have thought to compare and connect in this phenomenal read. |
The Tipping Point Malcolm Gladwell creates one tour de force of relative and useful information after another in each of his books. In the The Tipping Point , he opens his readers' eyes in reference to the way businesses have gone from being unnoticed to suddenly booming in sales and fame. Gladwell goes into details on how one person or a small group of unknown individuals could bring to popularity something as simple as a message or an item of clothing to striking the world of fashion or politics by creating a movement. Word of mouth seems to have a huge impact on how epidemics flood communities around the world. |
Outliers In this hell of a masterpiece, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell centers his attention on becoming successful and who truly has the upper hand in obtaining better opportunities. He calculates the years when people were born, the resources they were exposed to and the time they spent perfecting their craft. He puts the meaning of the word success on a different plateau. |
A New Earth
written by A New EarthEckhart Tolle breaks down your mistaken ideas of what it really means to be one with life and the universe. This examines the ego as one of the biggest dilemmas in most people's lives and the reason for their never-ending unhappiness. Tolle pinpoints characteristics that a majority of people possess which conflict with their spirits or consciousness. He expands on how individuals persist on having their needs met instead of moving on with the flow of life and nature. We tend get in our own way and miss enlightenment. This book is an amazing summer read! |
