Feeling lost

There comes a time when we feel lost. We perceive that no one cares about us. Our world is crumbling into pieces, but we mean little or nothing to those who ‘should’ care about us. Yet, when our lives are inline with those who are happy, it seems that they ‘do’ care. Why is that? Inspired by the book, A New Earth written by Eckhart Tolle, life will only give us battles when we think we are in a fight to survive. In good times, the reason why we are well connected with others is because we are sharing similar enjoyable experiences. Giving and taking with no expectations. The less we focus on the me-me-me factor, the less we will feel ill about what is not happening for ‘me’ or what ‘I’ will gain from a given situation.
Tolle diminishes the importance we give to the ego in order to assist us in living fruitful lives. In addition, when we tend to center our attention on the past or the future more than just being here and NOW, we are not living up to the moment-to-moment purpose of our existence. It weakens us and turns our consciousness off from what is happening to daydreaming.
Titles are another way of losing ourselves into a realm of attachment. If we disconnect ourselves from feeling chained into what should ‘define’ us, the more we can appreciate instances as they occur. The less we complain about others and the more we just EXIST in harmony with our body, movement and soul.
Let take a look at the following labels.
Losing ourselves is a figment of our imagination. We feel we have to find something or attain a certain position in order to reach a special goal. Many of us are always trying to find ourselves by comparing ourselves to others and thinking that we should be successful like them, intelligent like them, physically beautiful like them, smart like them or strong like them. We are so fixed in other people’s lives that we forget that we should live our own as simply and gently as we can. We don’t need to search for something materialistically higher to answer a calling within. Alternatively, we should simply and unquestionably just BE.

Let take a look at the following labels.
- A chronically ill person coerces pity and even when some people say they do not want others to feel sorry for them, part of them does.
- On the other hand, some professions such as doctors, actors or lawyers may prompt respect. And sometimes recognition is demanded or desired. Yet, does this mean that a maintenance worker or a cashier should not be as respected as a doctor merely because he or she doesn’t have the same status or degree?
- Next, we have parents, siblings or friends whom feel the pressure to be understood and supported regardless of what their situation is. People want to be accepted by others in some form or another. What we lack in knowledge is that we do not need to be recognized.
