Families go on vacation, students have some time off their studies and the weather can be pleasant for some. Temples and shrines tend to patron these amazing holy carnivals. Festivals, known in Japan as Matsuri, take place just about all year long, but the most popular ones are Hanabi. They are held in July and August. What makes Hanabi such a fun festival?
Aside from the treats pictured above, Japan offers many more snacks and refreshments that residents and visitors alike just love. Shrine and temple members go out onto the street and perform a number of traditional Japanese dances and skits. These cheer up the crowd and draw in many onlookers.
